If you wouldn’t say it about a boob job…

A public service announcement from adoptive families everywhere!

We got some pretty strange looks and heard some ridiculous statements when we were doing foster care. While I could handle most comments, we cared for school-age kids who absolutely felt the pain of those words and the sting of the stares.

Working with adopting families here in Nicaragua has reinforced how clueless we can all be about families who don’t quite fit the stereotype. Thankfully, one adoptive couple came up with a great standard for us to use when deciding whether to ask some of those burning questions that might pop into our heads from time to time. So without further ado, I present to you this public service announcement from adoptive families everywhere:
